Are there any side effects?

After each treatment, slight redness and swelling is the most frequent side effect. This will usually reduce, a few hours after the treatment is finished. Most people experience no other side effects but very rarely a small blister could form or the skin may become temporarily lighter or darker.


Is it safe?

IPL is FDA approved and has been the subject of various universal studies. All of which have found the technology tone safe and very effective when removing hair. Which is why it has become so popular in clinics.


How often do i need to use it?


In general, we recommend using it, one treatment every 2 weeks for the first 12 weeks. After this point, we suggest reducing treatments to only once per month. Until you are completely happy. But the exact number of treatments needed varies varies depending on your skin tone and hair type. We cover each different type and how many treatments are needed, within our user manual. 


How long will it last?

Our handsets last over 900,000 flashes. Which is over 3 times longer than others on the market. This will last up to 20 years, if used as directed.


How strong is the device and what is the output?

Our handset has 8 settings with a maximum energy output of 4.2 cm2 which means it is ideal for hair removal and is also approved for safe and effective at-home use.


Which areas of my body can I use this on?

You can use it on any part of your body. Including your face and Brazilian, but please take care to not use it next to your eyes.


Do I need to wear glasses when using it?

It is recommended to wear glasses to avoid staring directly into the light., However, we have included a filter within the device, which means it is safe to use without glasses (if preferred).


Do I need to shave before using it?

We recommending using an epilator or shaving the desired areas for best result.


Are there any reoccurring costs?

No, there are no reoccurring costs. This only requires a one time purchase.


Does it have any warranty?

Each device comes with a 1 year warranty. As well as lifetime after care.


How long before I start seeing results for hair removal and skin rejuvenation?

Most of our customers start seeing results after just 3-5 treatments, with complete results after 12 treatments. Results vary for each skin tone and hair colour, so we have provided detailed instructions for each of these, within our user manual. 


How is the handset powered?

It is powered by 12 V power supply


Can it be used in conjunction with other cosmetic treatments such as Retinol and AHA’s?   

Intense Pulsed Light treatments may be combined with glycolic acid facial peels or microdermabrasion for maximum results. It is advised to not use in conjunction with these cosmetics at the same time. Please allow at least 72 hours before using our device after these treatments. 


How do I know how my skin will react?

Before using for the first time. It is important to do a small patch test on an area of your skin 2 hours before your first treatment. To check how your skin will react.


How does Softer Me work for Skin Rejuvenation?

IPL Skin Rejuvenation treatment is one of the most effective treatments for smoothing out skin tone and texture.

IPL therapy clears the skin via intense pulse light technology and helps to improve an range of the most common skin health and appearance conditions. These include: Spider Veins, Pigmentation Spots/Hyperpigmentation, Acne and scars. 


Am I suitable for Acne treatment?

IPL targets acne-prone skin to reduce acne bacteria, breakouts and inflammation for a clearer, balanced and healthier looking complexion. Almost everyone can be treated with Acne, apart from very dark skinned or tanned individuals (please see our video above for suitable skin types). If you are pregnant or taking Roaccutane (an acne medication) it is best not to carry out Intense Pulsed Light treatment. IPL is also not suitable for those who have open wounds, infections, rosacea, psoriasis or dermatitis in the area which will be targeted.
